Scott M Wheelwright PhD

Co-Founder & President

Scott brings decades of expertise in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Prior to BCI, he co-founded Biolnno Bioscience, a leading CDMO, and co-founded Innovent Biologics, one of China’s foremost biotechnology companies. He previously held leadership positions at Abbott, Chiron (now Novartis), and Scios (now Johnson & Johnson), contributing to the development of therapeutics for oncology, dermatology, and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Wheelwright earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute.

Co-Founder, Vice President of Commercial Operations

Chervee is a seasoned commercial leader with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. She specializes in
Go-to-Market and Commercialization strategies, successfully driving market expansion and operational excellence across APAC. She has held leadership roles at Roche, Lonza, and Vetter Pharma, where she managed cross-cultural business environments and built high-performing teams. Chervee holds an honors degree in Biotechnology from the University of Putra Malaysia and a Global Management Certificate from INSEAD, combining scientific expertise with global business acumen to drive industry transformation.

Alois Jungbauer PhD

BCI - Alois

Alois holds his PhD in Food Technology and Biotechnology from BOKU University, where he served as Professor of Downstream Processing at the Institute of Bioprocess Science and Engineering. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Adelaide and a researcher at the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB), where he previously served as Deputy Director of Research for over a decade. He has authored over 400 publications, 17 patents, and the monograph Protein Chromatography: Process Development and Scale-Up. A leader in EU-funded projects like CODOBIO and CAARE, he continues to shape the field through editorial and advisory roles.
